The Center for Multicultural Cooperation (CMC) is a non-profit organization established in 1982 that focuses on producing outcomes for social justice that empower, revitalize and transform communities. We aim to create a new generation of informed, skilled and creative leaders who harness the power of media to express their public voice, preserve the community’s legacy and create positive social change.
At CMC, we believe that the zip code you live in, who your parents are, and what school you attend should not determine your access to positive economic, educational, and health outcomes. We see local communities, and especially youth, as an asset to achieve more equitable outcomes. We believe that problems cannot be solved by the same kind of thinking that created them – we must develop new ways to bring these assets together to create change.
With offices in Fresno and Sacramento, and hundreds of young people involved in the San Joaquin Valley and the greater Sacramento Metropolitan Region, CMC is currently expanding state partnerships to work with young people throughout the state of California.
